PHF’s Zia, Bajwa to discuss Indo-Pak hockey today


LAHORE: President Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) Qasim Zia and Secretary PHF Asif Bajwa have been scheduled to meet in Islamabad on Thursday to through light on the likelihoods of India-Pakistan hockey series.Executive Board of PHF has given re-approval of the measures taken by President and Secretary PHF in a bid to hold Pakistan-India hockey series, said Secretary PHF Asif Bajwa after a meeting of Executive Board Pakistan hockey in Lahore.He informed that besides approving the appointments in the marketing department of Pakistan hockey the Executive Board of Pakistan hockey has also resolved to annually deal out as many as 10,000 hockey-sticks and balls in schools across country.Asif Bajwa also informed media, “Two offers made to Malaysia pertaining to their tour to Pakistan as one was a series with Pakistan senior hockey team and other was a tri-nation tournament including Pakistan junior and senior teams.”Taking strict action, ten-days salaries, of the couches of Pakistan senior and junior teams Ayaz Mehmood, Kamran Ashraf, Ahmed Alam and Qamar Ibrahim, have been deducted as they failed to participate in FIA course, Asif informed.
